Joe’s is all about simplicity and authenticity.
Bringing true New York style pizza to Shanghai was no easy feat. During the R&D process, the Joe’s Shanghai team tried everything from testing dozens of cheeses, to sourcing the perfect flour, to even flying gallons of New York City tap water to Shanghai. It was an arduous and frustrating process as they simply couldn’t recreate the Joe’s New York style we’ve all come to know and love.
However, after two long years of trial and error, they eventually unlocked a recipe that the local partners here and the Joe’s family could be proud to call authentic New York style Joe’s Pizza.
Joe’s 是一家非常简单而又真实的pizza店。
把纯正纽约风味的pizza带到上海并非易事。在研发的过程中，Joe’s在上海的团队尝试了各种各样的东西，从测试几十种奶酪到采购完美的面粉，甚至从纽约空运几加仑的自来水到上海。这是一个艰难和令人头疼的过程因为他们当时根本无法做出那被我们知晓并喜爱的纽约风味。
但是经过两年漫长的尝试和失败，他们最终找到了一种配方，当地的合伙人和Joe’s的成员都可以自豪地称其为正宗的纽约风味Joe’s Pizza.
CHALLENGES 面临的挑战
In many ways, the challenge of finding the right local marketing partner is similar. They needed a design house which understood what authentic pizza from a Greenwich Village Institution meant. They needed a marketing agency that understood the long rich history that makes Joe’s different from the rest of the New York City pizza guys, and how to bring that to the local market here in China.
MDS was selected to be their agency, and throughout the partnership, we helped Joe’s with their localization efforts into the Chinese market.

MDS created digital strategies for Joe’s Pizza, designed their menu and label, and shot their product photographs.

For the digital strategy, MDS designed and developed their website and created a WeChat-based loyalty points system.
